The Hunter’s Full Moon arrives at 12:12 a.m. Eastern on October 26, with the Moon at 2° Taurus opposing the Sun at 2° Scorpio.
And honestly? This Moon needs a nap.
The chart around this Full Moon is loud. Eight of the bodies I track are retrograde. Fire and air dominate the chart, fixed energy is everywhere, and squares carry more weight than any other aspect. Almost everybody seems to be reconsidering, revising, arguing, processing, expressing, questioning or demanding something.
Meanwhile, the Moon is the only body in Earth.
She has just finished running a gauntlet through Aries, passing a collection of retrograde planets and points that are busy reconsidering everything from identity to purpose to vision. Now she has finally reached Taurus, where the Moon wants something much simpler: peace. Stability. Comfort. Something solid underneath her feet.
A snack would be nice.
Unfortunately, nobody else seems interested in shutting up.
The Overstimulated Moon
A Taurus Moon generally wants to know where it stands. It wants security, simplicity and something tangible to hold onto. In this chart, that desire feels especially strong because there is almost no Earth to help ground all of the fire, air and activity around it.
This Moon feels like an overstimulated toddler who has reached the point where one more sound, question or demand may be one too many.
But the Full Moon sits inside a larger fixed configuration. The Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun while both challenge Juno and Pluto in early Aquarius.
The Moon may want to declare the whole thing finished. The Sun has other ideas.
Scorpio wants to know what is underneath the surface. It wants to investigate, expose and understand. Aquarius may simply know something and expect everyone else to accept it; Scorpio is standing there with a spotlight in one hand and a shovel in the other saying, “No. Show me.”
Juno and Pluto bring questions of commitment and power into that conversation. Who has the power inside our agreements? How is that power being used? Are the structures we have committed ourselves to still working for the people inside them?
The Moon would really rather not have this conversation right now.
Where Does “Me” End and “We” Begin?
That question of power and commitment is echoed elsewhere in the chart.
Venus has retrograded back into Libra, a sign she rules, while Chiron has retrograded back into Aries. They oppose one another across the Aries-Libra axis.
Chiron in Aries is revisiting wounds around identity: Who am I? What happens when being myself has hurt? Where have I learned that who I am is somehow not enough?
Venus in Libra is reconsidering partnership, fairness, balance and reciprocity.
Together, they raise a larger question: Who am I in relationship?
Where does “me” end and “we” begin? What happens when the needs of the individual and the needs of the partnership don't agree? Which carries more weight?
That question keeps appearing throughout this chart in slightly different forms.
Vesta retrograde in Aries is reconsidering what is sacred to the self. She forms a flowing fire connection with Mars in Leo and an extremely out-of-bounds Black Moon Lilith retrograde in Sagittarius. There is plenty of fire here willing to defend the right to be fully oneself.
Mars in Leo has the courage to lead with the heart and express what it feels. Black Moon Lilith is considerably less polite about it. At a declination of 27°17', Lilith is far out of bounds, operating well outside the usual limits. Retrograde in Sagittarius, she isn't particularly interested in being told what she is allowed to believe, say or be.
Vesta's tension with Ceres in Cancer complicates the picture. What is sacred to me may not always be the same thing as what other people need from me. At what point does nurturing someone else become abandoning yourself?
Again: me versus we.
Everybody Is Processing Something
Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio as well, and Mercury doesn't seem ready to provide quick answers.
Mercury challenges Jupiter in Leo and Hecate in Aquarius while forming a supportive connection with Ceres in Cancer. Jupiter wants expression. Hecate wants a choice. Mercury is still digging through the information and isn't ready to do either.
That matters because this entire chart feels full of unfinished internal processes.
Venus is reconsidering relationships and values. Chiron is reconsidering identity wounds. Vesta is reconsidering what is sacred. Neptune is revising vision. Uranus is revisiting ideas and information. Mercury is processing what it has uncovered.
Mars and Jupiter in Leo, meanwhile, are considerably louder about the whole thing. With Jupiter near the South Node and opposing the North Node and Hecate in Aquarius, the familiar response may be to express everything—loudly, dramatically and all at once.
Hecate keeps asking for a choice. Jupiter would rather have all the options.
It makes for an incredibly noisy chart.
And that may be the most important thing to understand about this Full Moon.
You Don't Have to Process Everything Right Now
Emotionally, we may simply be tired.
The situation may not be resolved. Other people may still be processing their own issues. Relationships may still be changing. Questions about identity, commitment, fairness, power and responsibility may still need answers.
The Scorpio Sun is certainly not finished digging. But the Taurus Moon has reached its limit. And perhaps that distinction matters.
Something can still require investigation without requiring your emotional participation every minute of the day. Someone else's process can be unfinished without becoming yours to carry. A relationship can still have questions without those questions needing to be answered tonight. Sometimes the emotional system needs rest before the intellectual, relational or practical problem has been solved.
This Full Moon may therefore ask us to notice where the boundary lies between what belongs to us and what belongs to everyone else.
How much of other people's processing are you carrying?
How much noise are you absorbing because someone else hasn't figured out what they want?
Where are you trying to solve something simply because you cannot tolerate leaving it unfinished?
And where have you become so overstimulated by everyone else's needs, opinions, questions and emotions that you can no longer hear your own?
The world around this Moon may still be loud. You don't necessarily have to be. Sometimes you really do need to eat something, turn off the noise and take a nap.
A Little 12:12 Synchronicity
This Full Moon perfects at 12:12 a.m. Eastern, giving us a little numerological synchronicity alongside an already unusual chart.
In angel-number traditions, 12:12 is often associated with alignment, transition and moving consciously into the next stage of something. I wouldn't use a repeating number to override what the astrology is saying, but it makes an interesting punctuation mark here.
Because this chart isn't necessarily asking us to have everything figured out. It may simply be asking us to recognize what is ours, what isn't, and what we need before we take the next step.
And sometimes the next step can wait until after the nap.
A Note About This Moon Report
This public Moon report focuses on the astrology itself: the major themes, transits and collective energies surrounding the lunation. Your individual experience of this Full Moon will depend on where these placements fall in your natal chart and the aspects they make to your own planets and points.
